In 2010 Forthnet decided to radically update its mapping portal, Driveme.gr. GEODATA used the Web Services infrastructure and improved the usability of the portal, with the following search and location detection functions:
- instructions and help for the correct input format of the address,
- alternative street names (eg Patision / October 28),
- automatic completion of other data (such as Postcode, Prefecture, etc.),
- selecting a point on the map and viewing its address,
- list of points of interest,
- point-to-point routing,
- map printing.
The infrastructure of GEODATA’s services used by Driveme.gr, is based on the combination of Free Software / Open Source Software (ELLAK, FS / OSS), and a geographical services platform specially developed by GEODATA.
